Scrap Book: A Book of Many Authors

The simple idea is to pass a scrapbook from one person to another and create what will be the first "world scrap book". Every artist will fill two pages of the book with designs that can include pictures, a mini story, a poem etc.
Once the book is finished money raised from the book will be used to help children in the philipeans learn to read.

I'm taking part in the project and have donated some money to help the children achieve a better standard of life. My pages will be art mixed with poetry and at the moment I'm really not sure what to write about or have pictures of.

There are actually two scrap books making the rounds, as that was the quickest way to achieve this mammoth of a task. One is currently in Bellevue, WA the others in Kentucky.

Behind The Scenes - Eyesight Part 2 Viral

On Saturday I recorded some footage for a viral video to advertise my art/poetry book "The Thoughts of One, Feelings of Many".
The video is like a poetry music video for my poem "Eyesight part 2" which I'm still writing. The piece involved covering joleigh in white paint and then projecting images onto her, got some special effects and hopefully autotune thrown in there too. The video probably won't be shown until near the release of the book, so this is definitely coming soon... although soon might be a while

My Family!!!

I realise I haven't been blogging a lot recently, but the book is still progressing. I have a few cool things that will be featured in the book that I haven't spoke about yet but I'm going to wait until they happen before I mention them.

I'm at the stage where I'm turning the poems into art work.
This poem is tentatively called "My Family" although I have a few other names I may use instead. The poem is basically about painting a picture of what my family is like and I'm hoping some people will relate to it as well.



One stanza from "My Family" which I'm pretty proud of is;

"The best was always birthdays and Christmas time,
Packed in that old VW like little miss sunshine
We brought gift's but had the presence of mind,
To bring good spirits and a lot of wine"

Poetry: Bexley Times Article

Last week an article about me was published in several Local papers, this was because of the faith the Times team had in me and what I wanted to do. I would like to thank them and especially Marina for their help as this has helped me greatly and given me a little more credibility as a poet. My next step is to have some of my work featured in some art magazines and tabloids, I don't think it's going to be easy but I'm not going to stop until I achieve it.

Poetry: Hero (So Far)

Hero was like a mini project. I wrote the poem around October time and then spent the next few months tweaking it. I then sent it to a select group of people that I call my testers, people that will give me honest opinions. I then organised Sam Bradford to come to Ravensbourne to shoot the art work and then finally the piece was edited.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read it and hopefully you got something out of it. The poem along with an article about me is going to be in the Bromley Times and Bexley Times this week. I had a photoshoot on friday and an interview today. I'm a little nervous about what will be wrote about me and what the picture will look like. Still I'm looking forward to it. I'VE BEEEEENNNNN PUBLLLIISSHHEDD!!!

This isn't the end though, far from it, next up is a poem called "Butterflies" it's aimed at a female audience, it's quite different from hero and is wrote as if it was the person's thoughts, it's non descript as well, can be a boy or girl. The piece will look like pages of a scrap book. Should be finished soon...

Poetry: HERO

Hero is the first poem I've released, if this was a song it would be my first single.
The poem combines a story of heart break with a super hero comic (in both image and words). The piece is a combination of poetry, rap and song lyrics with word play mixed in. So far comments have been really positive and I would really like to hear your opinion on it, I hope you like it.

Today I took the pictures for my Poetry Comic Strip "Hero". Model Sam Bradford came down to Ravensbourne College and we took lots of different images, which I then aim to turn into cartoons. The above is an example of whats to come, keep checking back for more.....

Poetry: The Thoughts of One Feelings of Many

I posted something a few weeks ago about my art poetry book. The first poem I'm going to post and hopefully have posted on many other sites will be called "Hero". The poems finished I just have to finish the art work. I have an actor/model called Sam Bradford, who stared in my short film "In Need of a Lift" coming down to help me with it. Hopefully I'll have something to show soon!!! :)
P.S. The above image is a poster I've designed which may have a similar look to the front cover of the book.
